SoftPLC’s Drive Gateways provide protocol conversion between Allen-Bradley Remote I/O (RIO) “blue-hose” networks and VFD’s that reside on Ethernet/IP, ModbusTCP, DF1, Modbus RTU, and other networks.  RIO Drive Gateways are ideal when updating a drive, but not the A-B PLC.

The SMG4-DS is a SoftPLC Smart Gateway with specialized firmware that provides a web-browser based configuration to replace one A-B RIO drive with one Siemens Ethernet/IP Drive.  For multiple drives/gateway, specialized function support, etc. a NeoPAC or Smart RIO Gateway is recommended.
